A few weeks ago we read a poem Where I'm From
I keep thinking back to this poem these past few weeks when everything seems to be going wrong in my life. I will look up to God and think him for his challenges he gives me because every single one of them brings be back to where I come from.

I come from a backwoods farm in the middle of know where, where everyone knows your name and half the county is related to you somehow. There is a song that really sums it up so here it is. By Montgomery Gentry

Don't you dare go runnin' down
My little town where I grew up
And I won't cuss your city lights
If you ain't ever took a ride around
And cruised right through the heart of my town
Anything you'd say would be a lie

We may live our lives a little slower
But that don't mean I wouldn't be proud to show ya

Where I come from,
There's an old plowboy turnin' up dirt
Where I come from,
There's a preacher man in a cowboy shirt
Where I come from
Where a couple boys fight in the parking lot
No, nobody's gonna call the cops
Where I come from

See that door right there
Man, I swear that it ain't never been locked
And I guarantee that it never will
That ol' man right there in the rockin' chair
At the courthouse square, I'll tell ya now
He could buy your fancy car with hundred dollar bills

Don't let those faded overalls fool ya

He made his million without one day of schoolin'

Where I come from
There's a pickup truck with the tailgate down
Where I come from
The pine trees are singin' a song of the South
Where I come from
That little white church is gonna have a crownd
Yeah, I'm pretty damn proud
Where I come from

Where I come from
There's a big ol' moon shinin' down at night
Where I come from
There's a man done wrong gonna make it right

Where I come from
There's an old plowboy turnin' up dirt
Where I come from
There's a preacher man in a cowboy shirt
Where I come from
Where a couple boys fight in the parking lot
No, ain't nobody gonna call the cops

Yeah, that river runs across that ol' flat rock
Where I come from

Where I come from

Last week Mrs. Manship showed us a site with pictures and words on them. I was going to make one of those photos but i could not find what i want, could not find what was perfect for me.

Tonight at church we were talking about statuses and what status we have in life and i couldn't think of my status and there was a poem and one of the lines said everyone waiting for me to fail.... i feel like that sometimes and i knew instantly what my picture should be.

All my life i have heard was people what I'm going to be like when i grow up, that I'm nothing, will not be anything in life that I'm too stupid to go anywhere. I have heard statistics that if your told your stupid you will not do as well in life. well I'm going to prove everyone wrong i am going to make something with my life i will be a good strong person who stands for whats right.

Here is the poem we heard in church.

                                                                 Who am I?
who am I?
I know I'm more than an athlete or a brain, an outcast or a rebel.
But that's not the reality of high school.
I'm supposed to be discovering myself, finding myself, but somehow I've been given a label.
It feels like everyone is watching , expecting, waiting for me to fail.
I feel so desperate, alone, invisible, misunderstood, fake.
All I ever wanted was to be accepted, but now I regret some of the things I've done.
And I'm tired; I'm tired of trying to be who everybody wants me to be.
God, I know it shouldn't matter what others think, but it's hard not to.
I know you want me to be real, to be who you made me to be.
But it's easier to be that way at church, than it is at school.
Lord, help me to surrender to you. Give me courage;give me strength, because I can't do it on my own.
Help me understand that what really matters is what you see, and who you designed me to be.
Help me to be... That me.

I dont know who wrote the poem but the beginning I thought was really speaking to me, that that is the way I am and I hate how there are labels. Why can we not all just get along?

Today was a really exciting day for me. i woke up early and went to my grandmas to watch her mom while she went to go get her hair done. i thought that it would be just another day like always but it turned out to be an excellent bonding time and i learn something new. when my grandma came back from getting her hair done she rested for an minute then had this crazy idea to go hunting for Fairy Rings. For those who might not know what fairy rings are they are a natural ring of mushrooms in the wild

they are very rare. she herd about one so we went to take pictures we could not find the fairy Ring but i learned what they were and continued my search when i got home. i put on a natural bug repellent that repelled everything but mosquito's. i had a parade of animals following me, my Australian Shepperd who lad thy way guarding me and a very curios horse who wanted attention after hours of searching i was unable to find one but i was a wonderful adventure.

We were assigned to make a time line of our literary life.
 Picture0907121734_1.jpg
this started in kindergarten when I learned to write and wrote a mothers day book.  I saw the book one time and I thought it was cute the way i thought but i do not remember much about it. The next thing on my time line was in the 7th grade when the school forced us to write a book of poems. if anyone really knows me they will know I am not a poet not even close to one so this was hard for me. the third thing on my time line was the first time I got praised for something I wrote. I remember that it was the 10th grade and my teacher gave us a picture. She told us to make up a story of what was  in the picture and I love art so I let my imagination rome. it was a wonderful story and it later disappeared. the fourth thing on my time line was from the 12th grade. The 12th grade was the first year I got an A in English.  My 5th and final thing on my time line was when i first stepped into my collage English1101 class. This class from the start was different from any other English class I have ever been in. The teacher I noticed was more relaxed and did not give us a set thing we had to write about. I feel like i finally have freedom and that i can express myself which is hard sometimes. How do you express yourselves? do you have similar experiences?

Over the summer i took the little girl i babysit fishing for the first time. We found an old Snoopy miniature fishing rod in my barn and fixed it up just for her. later that day we went down to the pond to fish and she saw our wild blackberry patches. she asked me what they were and i told her blackberries and that she should try one. After eating twenty or so blackberries she was finally ready to go Fishing. i threw her line in the water and handed her the rod a fish bit it right away but she could not catch. i threw the line back in the water and set the hook in the fishes mouth for her and let her real the fish in. she was so excited that she caught her first fish. we fished for twenty more minutes then we walked back up to the house where she told everyone about her wild adventure.
