String Games!!!
On the first day of class we learned some string games like cup and saucer. This reminded me of when I was in the 6th grade when I learned what a string game was for the first time. My friend Courtney was in girl scouts and they had learned how to make things with string and I asked her to teach me Jacobs ladder. She told me that it was really hard and it took her months to just learn how to do it, but I was determined to get this right so she showed me. She only showed me once but I watched really carefully. I tried to do it and for hours I struggled with it trying different ways to twist and tangle the stringy mess. finally when it was close to go home I did it I completed Jacob's ladder. I was proud of what I accomplished and it went to show my hardheadedness when I put my mind to doing something I'm going to do it no matter how long it takes.
I can't believe your friend only showed you how to do the Jacob ladder once! Good thing you didn't give up on completing the jacob ladder because I might. Never ever give up michelle.
ReplyDeleteIt always feels good to accomplish something especially after taking a while to get it down. It seems like string games really helped cultivate a good attitude.
ReplyDeleteI thought the string games were very challenging, especially because I had never heard of them before. But as I started to read the directions and watch other people make different things out of the string games, they began to get easier to accomplish. It is always important to keep trying to accomplish something, relating to our writing, trial and error is always something to learn from and help us to succeed whether it is in string games or writing papers for English class.

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't necessarily call it "hardheadedness" but persistence which can be a good thing when it comes to solving problems and what do you know it paid off haha
